We had a few rough years, due to Corona .....

- most international London, Paris, USA "fairs" did disappear for months

- so we sold our Truck and also our Home-Shop-house

- and we stopped traveling

- and, since 1990 internet was my passion, = so international business "as usual" continued by mail

- AND once a collector = always a collector : swapping & trading & exchanging went on

- 2021 Ebay got hungry and could not be reached anymore by phone : so we left Ebay

This Blog will be a try-out for bringing in all our photographs of trade cards : fifty years collecting Advertising Ephemera presented online on many platforms in all languages AND suplemented with for-sale in our retirement sales So same-time-show : our sales and archive as exposition in our Virtual Museum

So I start now, begin october 2020 with the dividing our inventory-collections : 600 maps, one map at a time : each map fully photograped and beeing on sale somewhere (links will show you where when brought in auction). Prices will go down 30% if aquiring 3 to 5 maps of a collection. And when buying all maps of a collection price will be 40% down. If buying FULL archive then discount is 50%.

As example you can follow as a start, the evolution of my a SCRAP-collection of more than 20 maps, 10 BIG albums and some boxes filled with scraps. This full collection is far too extended

So there will follow a dividing in smaller parts, each day one or 2, and this µI will do week by week. So in 2 years all wil be online and the images, to be provided in catalogues, will never be lost.

Preparing INVENTORY

Thanks for reading this blog. We have won 4 years ... now preparing our archive to give it free for consult by students and collectors, digital century :

Purpose is to find a way to bring structure and effectiveness for research ... and at same time have to run business as usual and do no work double.

So scanning and at same time make structure by titling and referring numbers : to be presented in THIS BLOG (300.000 pictures) AND all this in digital maps presenting all prints in my websites. Because I decided to use these websites further, because they were weaved in my brain 50 years ago, and still serve the purpose wherefore I designed them. Now they will serve the New Times Coming and my websites will be changing only slightly. Same subject related : only printed advertising Ephemera printed both sides of card with lithographic paints ( printing ink ). Those last 25 years of my life I intend to transform the archive to digital and so I can sell all my collections and don't need my archive anymore.

So we will NOT need 5 more years to finish all necessary changes and further improvements. All will be finished end next year 2021 to serve collectors better.

My goal is : to transform all my info gathered in collections, catalogues and research by introducing them in a virtual museum that will show all kind of tradecards on photo in right directories. Around 2022 catalogues will be enlarged and remain free to study.

VIRTUAL MUSEUM Collectomania, the website will be a digital archive platform. Just like www.Collectomania.be (since 45 years) for subject and themes on trade cards, as well as the various presentations of these on paper-cards, vignettes, in sets or odd cards, on stamps, on visit cards, on flyers, pamphlets, folders (double, triple, ect... ), booklets, postcards, posters, affiches, menucards, tickets, calendars, games, boxes, leaflets, scraps, die-cuts and all kind of material : thick hard paper, metal, hardboard to cigarette paper ... small items as stamps to meters wide Wall Affiches ... printed in one color to 24 colors ... printers and their hand-press lithos, as well as wood-block printing, gravures, etchings, chromo-litho's and all other printing techniques and material and forms to print on.

CATALOGUES online, free to use as always www.chromo.be . I used this website to host only the cards I collected myself, and NO other ... since 45 years for "Au Bon Marché", for Extract of Meat Companies like Liebig and Cibils, Chocolate Companies like Suchard, Guérin Boutron and many other. From now on All tradecard sets with their printers, with their illustrators, sets descriptions (all photographed), their variations and printing differences during 150 years ... catalogue numbers in all countries and languages, titles ... this project is a 10 year project. So not extended shortly.

THE SELLING PART

You will see the Crowd Fund happening, without cost for users when the websites change around 2022 ... with all catalogues for all edited trade cards.

Due to Corona we were handicapped in sending ( some packages to USA took 2 months ... now it is better 3 weeks to one month) ... please accept my apologies that I could not help.

The internet takes advantage : traveling collectors visiting me in Antwerp ... do limit themselves to only internet handlings on my websites and on the auctions we work with.

Collectors definitively do'nt like the commercial aspect of what I had in mind.

So . .. NO CROWD FUND .. no investments ... there will be raised simply a new website Free project in 2022

I got only feedback and questions of investors ... and just that was not my intention.

So for me things will become a lot easier : initially i took to many work on me. It is a relief that things get much more uncomplicated.

So :

- no auctions on www.Chromo.be itself.

- all regio-managers, will have to do ALL themselves (accountancy, organise their members, fairs, auctions and so on). They will get no support financial or whatever from our organisation...... but they can inscribe in 2022 to the organising-website FREE, and ask help in a forum of volunteers. All will be FREE but we will have to think and brainstorm this over and over. We will work this out during 2020.... fill in what we need from software in 2021 and ... to end and finish ... being operational during 2022.

This will give me the time to administer and finish my own business smoothly in following years.

I can now see the NEW WEBSITE 2022 ( name has to be invented ) as my latest project in the collecting-world. My wife and I are 75 and that new platform will be my last good deed.

So there is no need anymore for a crowd funding. The new-website will just live on paying advertisers (fairs, shops, commercial catalogues, ... All those who Paypalled investments are paid back.

My websites www.chromo.be en www.collectomania.be will be sold or continued ............... or Franchised with a contract for help during 2 years by myself. All to be thought over.

All my personal collections and the shops archive will be sold out. Lots of these collections will be sold, as in the past already for 50 years :

There will be a lot of combined lots coming at those internet auctions so regulary check the websites.

- So there will be made a new website (or maybe Chromo.be suits us) and that will be a FRAME-website-platform. With agenda for fairs and international conventions, shows, musea and expositions worldwide ... that will be fun.
- Such calendar will also contain regional club-evenings, meetings ... flea-markets, brocantes ect..
- Websites of sole collectors ....
- a real big SEARCH engine only to related collecting : themas, regios, illustrators, editors, brands, old international Firms that edited series : chocolate editions, tobacco, sportclubs, collectors-lists, catalogues, with prices ( fairs, sellers, merchants, collector sales), and also catalogues with only Star-reference to rarity- lists and info about illustrators, their autographs and abbreviations they used (many had many !!! )

- we will pick out in ALL auctions worldwide the collecting-pieces of our interest and SHARING this ... instead of beeing lonely predaters. The 10,000nds of topic-forums will keep us so busy and joy-fullfilled that it will be our Heaven-on-Earth

ALL this means that we will be just a service-giving-website driven by cooperation of collectors worldwide providing info and realtime

All this will be a must-site where you can orientate in your region but also when travelling

Once a month we will brainstorm further.....and if interested you can mention this to me in an email with CV and your interests. I promised the guys and girl who did react to collaborate that they are considered by me as "chosen" for the new project 2022 and will be rewarded in 2022 by options and responsibilities in the new Platform.

I will now do more concentration on my business and sellings and will continue on this blog with a 2-monthly-blog and keep all interested updated

Het commerciele aspect van dit project houdt blijkbaar de deelname tegen van verzamelaars.

Ik krijg alleen feedback en vragen van investeerders over de vloer, en dat is nu net niet mijn bedoeling.

Voor mij maken onderstaande beslissingen alles makkelijker want ik nam te veel hooi op mijn vork …eindelijk terug wat rust.

Dus de veilingen door de regio-verantwoordlijkken zullen de clubs met hem zelf organiseren … ook de sponsoring van clubs komt dan niet meer in aanmerking door ons, noch hun administratie en boekhouding. Dus regioleiders mogen wel mee vergaderen en we zullen dan zien dat we met hun verzuchtingen rekening houden ... want voor hén richten we onze website in hun richting.

Noch verzamelaars, noch clubs zullen iets moeten betalen … alles is FREE. Dààr moet verder over nagedacht worden. Planning en uitvoering in 2021 en in dienst ten laatste eind 2022.

Ik bouw mijn activiteiten van nu af verder af zodat van enige financiële inbreng geen sprake meer kan zijn. Mijn vrouw en ik zijn 75 nu en zullen eind 2022 niet meer aktief zijn in de Verzamelwereld. Dit platform helpen oprichten zal mijn laatste goede daad zijn.

De websites www.chromo.be en www.collectomania.be zullen gewoon te koop worden gezet, Kan eventueel met Franchising (blijvende inzet, voor een paar jaar van mij, zodat de overnemer niet alleen komt te staan).

Alle persoonlijke VERZAMELINGEN worden definitief verkocht …. Veel zal, zoals in het verleden al meer dan 20 jaar, verkocht worden op Delcampe, als verkoper handelend onder de naam COLLECTOMANIA https://www.delcampe.net/nl/verzamelingen/store/collectomania

Er blijft dus alleen een frame-website op te richten. Met een agenda voor Fairs en club activiteiten en -avonden -internationale-beurzen , een kalender internationaal, een zoekfunctie op themas, regios, illustrators, uitgevers, merken, verzamelaarslijsten, catalogen met prijzen (veiling, handelaars, verkopers) en catalogen met sterren-evaluaties, enz… kortom een must-site waar elke verzamelaar ook per regio zich kan orienteren in zijn omgeving, maar ook landelijk en internationaal. Verzamelaars die hun verzameling online hebben gezet (ze zullen het nu zelf moeten doen) kunnen nog steeds voor 10€, dit vragen aan mij en ik zal met plezier hun link op Chromo.be vermelden. Ook winkels en handelaars, veilingen zullen steeds voor 20 € een vermelding van 3 lijnen blijven krijgen +link naar hun winkel of handel

Verzamelaars geïnteresseerden-medewerkers kunnen zich nog altijd aanmelden, er is geen haast mee gemoeid … want er zal er maar één brainstorm zijn per maand zijn (moet ik ook nog over nadenken) … want ik ga me voorlopig eerst terug concentreren op mijn verkopen ... en wachten en verwerken van reacties,

en U krijgt via dit blog een twee-maandelijkse update

Het houden van een winkel is niet meer noodzakelijk in onze branche. De gehele verzamel-handel kan digitaal beheerd worden.

Dus het hele opzet om mijn zaak van fysieke klanten naar digitale te verplaatsen komt niets te laat. Alles wordt van nu af op afstand kunnen gezien, betaald en verstuurd .

Al diegenen die hun verzameling of een verzamelclub digitaal willen opzetten en beheren .... een website willen opzetten voor club-veilingen, conference-avonden willen organiseren, hune jaarlijkse internationale fairs willen kenbaar maken ... en inzien dat internationale samenwerking het neusje van de zalm worden aangezocht zich mee te organiseren. Het is NIET van mij persoonlijk dat je hulp zult krijgen, het zal van de samenwerking afhangen, van de structuur, want ik ben zelf 75. Ik wil dit van de grond krijgen met jonge enthoesiaste mensen ... die de digitale wereld veel beter kennen dan ik ... en samen bouwen we dan aan iets totaal nieuw ... er is veel vraag naar info en naar dienstverlening, daar zullen wij dan op inspelen

Het zal veel vergaderen worden maar ZONDER verplaatsingen, thuis met de computer ... geen tijdverlies meer.

Vooral het opzetten van handel een handel via internet maar ook mobiel komt nu al voortdurend ter sprake. Zelfstandig in bijberoep ... en je werkt gewoon van thuis uit ... en maak je een eigen regio. En een meenmer is mijn mobiele handels-ervaring op beurzen internationaal, dat zal ook goed kunnen gebruikt worden. Mijn handel, camion en mobiele stand is intussen afgebouwd en kan niet ingebracht worden ..... wat niet zal beletten dat ook daar vele mogelijkheden te vinden zijn voor "kostwinning via verzamelen, aankoop en verkoop" mits een franchisisng systeem voor aankoopborderels, boekhouding, verzend-databases, enz...

Ik vraag initiatiefnemers ... maar slechts weinigen voelen zich geroepen tot hiertoe. Maak je bekend als je belangstelling hebt. AUB een mail eerst vooraleer te bellen.

Volgende bedenkingen en verduidelijkingen :

1ste linie = directiecomité 5 leden + voorzitter
- reeds gedane donaties van 10€ zullen worden overgemaakt naar regio-club van de woonplaats van de storter (bespreekbaar en notuleerbaar ). Hogere donaties kunnen worden gebruikt voor een optie op aandelen. Nog te bespreken , ik voorzie vóór het einde 2020.
- er zal vermoedelijk 2021 een vennootschap worden opgericht met een kapitaal van twee miljoen Euro (kan veel minder zijn, geen idee, moet wordt degelijk besproken ). Voorlopig is geen kapitaal/investering vereist voor medewerkers. Opties op aandelen zal de sleutel worden. Prijsbepaling van een aandeel zal door de directiemedewerkers elke maand worden bekend gemaakt, zodra als overeenstemming over alles wat daar mee te maken heeft
- één optie zou kunnen inhouden : het recht om bijvoorbeeld op 1 juli 2021 .... een optie op 100 aandelen te kopen, aan lage prijs ...te bepalen door de markt... zodanig dat aankoper al minstens 10% winst opbrengst heeft +de verwachting dat het aandeel zal gestegen zijn door onze krachtdadige inzet.
- Werkende vennoten zullen beloond worden met "opties" (kopen, krijgen door zijn inzet, nemen ... wordt verder besproken en uitgewerkt)
- alles wordt transparant beheerd met de computer en de programmas van Chromo.be ( alles nog te ont-wikkelen ).
- directieleden worden beoordeeld en geevalueerd door de leden over de uitvoering van de hen toebedeelde taken
- ik verwacht van de toetreders volledige integriteit , loyaliteit en inzet.
- er kunnen meerdere directiekommitees zijn ... zie volgende
- mijn directe medewerkers worden uitgezocht omwille van hun kwaliteiten en zullen misschien regelmatig wisselen .... ook als 5 mensen te weinig blijkt te zijn
zullen er meerder directiekommitees zijn ... ik vind vergaderen met 6 al een hele klus ... dus als meerdere mensen zó capabel blijken ... (over nadenken)

2e linie = medewerkers die administratie beheren, koppelaars-helpers voor regio mensen ... dus de bevoegden voor uitvoering van de besluiten van directiecomité.

3rde linie = regio verantwoordelijke voor land- of provincieclub : beheert alle alle daarin opgenomen clubs van die regio, en bemiddeld met verzamelaars die ruimte willen op website, faciliteiten, eventueel ook opties, reklame, enz.... Alle soorten verzamelaars en verzamel-clubs mogen toetreden. Chromo.be zal alleen logistiek, administratief en eventueel financieel ( tijdelijke leneningen ) steun verlenen. Leden uit die clubs kunnen sub-regioleiders worden afhangend van hun capaciteiten en inzet.

4rde linie = leden van alle respectievelijke clubs kunnen door hun inzet meer verantwoordelijkheid krijgen, alsook opties op aandelen afhankelijk van nog te besprekenvoorwaarden. Ledenbeheer en activiteiten wordt op dit niveau volledig per regio (bijvoorbeeld een land) afgehandeld, volledig autonoom.

- ikzelf wil mij zoveel mogelijk op de achtergrond houden, gezien mijn leeftijd ... want het zou jammer zijn dat alles kapot zou vallen wanneer mijn gezondheid me in de steek zou laten. Ik zoek dus jonge enthousiaste mannen en vrouwen die verzamelen leuk en fantastisch vinden om daarmee een toekomst mee op te bouwen.

Ik zou het jammer vinden moest er een investeerder op af komen om er een groot winstgevend bedrijf van te maken. Want ik zou graag met enkele vitale mensen hier gewoon iets willen opbouwen waarop we fier kunnen over zijn, en vooral ons eigen hobby verder kunnen uitoefenen als beroep.

Het overleg over aktiviteit, aanvang met wat eerst +doel, +administratie, +boekhouding, +legaliteit is zeer boeiend maar vooral moeizaam en enorm tijdrovend. Het idee is veel kosten en een "hoe zullen we het noemen" : lidgeld, inschrijving, donatie, bijdrage ... zou dit niet dekken.

Ik heb zelf vooropgesteld dat het Crowd Funding project niet mag samenlopen met mijn eigen financiële aktiviteiten op verzamelgebied. Ik wil dit gescheiden houden .... trouwens het zou in praktijk ( nu al ) op verzet stuiten. Dus dan zou ik mijn huidige handel moeten opgeven. of Chromo.be overzetten.

Daaruit blijkt : dat het ideaal zou zijn om een vereniging ( firma ) op te richten met inbreng van mijn kennis, goederen, kapitaal en met vennoten. Dus uiteindelijk alleen op winst maken gebaseerd. Met aanstelling van uitvoerders.

Dus stille en/of werkende vennoten gezocht ... alle goede ideeën zijn welkom ...
